Organisers of Scotland’s flagship end of year event have also ensured a distinctly Scottish presence with Celtic music stars Peatbog Faeries and Capercaillie.

Primal Scream are to perform their seminal 1991 album Screamadelica live, as well as their greatest hits, at what will be the last concert of 2011 and the first of 2012, supported by Bombay Bicycle Club.

World music from The Cuban Brothers and Fringe sell-outs Frisky & Mannish complete the headline acts for four of the five stages set along Princes Street.

Scottish up-and-coming alt-country band Kassidy plus X-Factor’s Jade Richards and Radio 1 DJs Jaymo & Andy George will add their lively contributions to the festivities.

Organisers are keeping mum on a ”sensational” indie headline act for the Waverley Stage still to be announced early in November.

For the first time Edinburgh has organised late-night transport home with Citylink Buses from the huge street party to Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, St Andrews, Dundee and Perth and Kinross.

Over 80,000 revellers from every corner of the globe will come to Scotland’s capital city to enjoy the Hogmanay celebrations, including: outdoor bars, giant screens, the midnight countdown to the New Year and of course the spectacular trademark castle fireworks display making Edinburgh’s New Year’s eve celebrations famous the world over.
