Activists from environmental organisation Friends of the Earth have installed a large inflatable elephant outside of the Houses of Parliament.

A slogan across the flanks of the creature reads: ‘Nuclear Power? No thanks. It’s a White Elephant’

The group used photovoltaic solar panels to inflate their elephant, and say that their intention is to highlight how expensive and unnecessary nuclear power is.

Friends of the Earth are calling for the UK Government to ‘create a safer, nuclear-free future by investing more in clean, green energy and helping homes and businesses save energy.’
