An online row has broken out after a member of the Better Together campaign posted a message beneath a photograph of four young women which appeared to suggest they were available for payment.
Online posters reacted with anger after Dan McCroskrie posted a message which asked “I wonder how much they cost”.
The comment provoked fury with one woman remarking that she found the comment “extremely offensive”.
The comment appeared on a Facebook page beneath a photograph of the four young women who could be seen smiling and holding up a Yes placard.
Mr McCroskrie was elected as National Treasurer of Conservative Future Scotland in November 2012. He joined the Conservative party after defecting from Scottish Labour in 2011.
