I must admit to being somewhat baffled recently by Alex Salmond’s performances at FMQs.

In the face of further senseless questions from Iain Gray and Labour over the rebranding fiasco and the constant accusations of SNP ‘Cuts, Cuts, Cuts’ whilst demanding more ‘Spend, Spend, Spend!!’

Today’s attack on Health Board cuts by Health Services who have actually received more money this year and the general rubbishing of everything the Government proposes.

Alex has mostly ducked answering easy questions and been very low key in his responses.  He has avoided actually taking Labour to task over the astronomical debts and costs of Labour’s failed PFI projects and has generally shown restraint in not ripping them to shreds in so many other obvious areas.

What is the reason for this approach? Why is he missing so many open goals?

This is allowing the Unionist press and the BBC a field day in promoting Labour lies, and giving their nonsense a degree of seeming validity.

Perish the thought, but is part of the strategy to allow Labour a free run back into Holyrood in order for them to mess things up further?  Or is it a case of letting Labour spout as much garbage as they can at present, in order to hit them back hard in the run up to the Elections?

All in all, I am mightily puzzled and somewhat alarmed.

The SNP cannot allow Labour to spout forth unchallenged for too long, otherwise folk will start to really believe their lies!!

As we all know, the West of Scotland in particular don’t need much persuasion normally, but some in the rest of the country may actually begin to be taken in.

Time to up the game a wee bit Alex.
