Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg and Labour leader Ed Miliband visit Edinburgh today to influence election prospects one week out from the Holyrood election.
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg will be addressing a business breakfast followed by meeting residents at a sheltered housing complex.
Mr Clegg highlighted positive measures undertaken by the UK government and claimed the presence of the Lib Dems’in the coalition would stop a return to Thatcherism.
He said: “I think when people look at what the Liberal Democrats are doing – including cutting tax for 2.2 million Scots on low and middle incomes and restoring the earnings link for one million pensioners that was broken under Thatcher – they will see we are trying to do things in the fairest way possible.”
Mr Miliband was due to visit a cafe in Newington, followed by a question and answer session in Portobello with Scottish Labour leader Iain Gray.
