Cathcart MSP James Dornan has today laid down a motion in the Scottish Parliament congratulating local dancer Jodie Taylor on being named as one of Glasgow’s Flame Ambassadors at the Paralympic Torch Celebration which took place at the Hidden Gardens in the Tramway Theatre on Sunday 26th August.
Jodie (18) had been chosen for the role through her dance class Make Music Move, a summer school at the Tramway Theatre and because she perfectly encapsulates the spirit and aims of the Paralympic Torch tour – that everyone should believe that anyone can do anything.
Commenting Mr Dornan said:
“Jodie is a fantastic young girl who has never allowed her disability to stop her doing anything and will be a great ambassador for the south side, the city, and Scotland.
“She is a credit to herself, her mother and her family and it was great to see her at the Celebration at the Hidden Gardens on Sunday, which was a brilliant event and a perfect send off for the flame. I look forward to celebrating the Paralympic Games and wish all Paralympians success in London.”
