Scotland’s favourite dug is back.  Duggy Dug, out for a walk, reminisces about past travels and the times he went to England and Ireland to visit his owner’s family.

But will it all end with independence?  Will border guards prevent Duggy taking his favourite Irn Bru across the border to Tam or stop him hopping across the sea to enjoy a pint of the black stuff?

This next animation deals with claims that an independent Scotland will see barriers erected at the border, with guards patrolling each checkpoint.  Scots will be forced to show a passport to visit family … or will they?

Meet wee Manxy, Duggy’s pal from the Isle of Man and Duggy’s distant cousin from Ireland.  Duggy travels back in time to ancient Rome and also reveals his youthful exploits with an old amor from France.  Ooh la la … Yes!

This next animation follows Duggy’s previous look at Scottish oil and again mixes humour and fact to present another enjoyable yet effective myth bursting venture into the heart of the No campaign.

‘Borders’ is coming next week and what’s more Newsnet Scotland will shortly be introducing our special ‘Dug Licence’ – a six inch static window sticker advertising Duggy’s very own website, DuggyDug.com

The independence debate needs a bit of humour and dare we say it, someone prepared to tell the woof, the whole woof and nothing but the woof.

Duggy Dug … Have you ever heard a dug tell lies?

Hollywood star Brian Cox provides the voice of cartoon character Duggy as we look at some of the issues surrounding independence.
