Financial services technology company FNZ is to boost its Edinburgh workforce by 10%. The company, which already employs more than 300 people at its Tanfield base, will recruit 30 more to be employed as project managers and operations personnel.
FNZ, which began life in Wellington, New Zealand in 2002, set up its global headquarters in Edinburgh’s Cannonmills area in January of last year. Despite the economic downturn the company has seen what it describes as “significant growth” and is optimistic about the future. This recruitment drive is not only to support existing business but also to ensure that the company is well positioned for future growth.
The firm’s Human Resources Director, Daniel Kasmir emphasised the importance of the importance of a talented workforce to the success of the business saying:
“One of the key elements of the success we have seen is down to the recruitment of a talented, hardworking and ambitious team.
“As FNZ continues to expand on a global scale, the need to hire the very best people becomes even more essential in achieving our ambitious growth targets.
“We identified Edinburgh as a city that has an available and talented workforce, which will ensure that we are able to recruit the right people with the right skills for FNZ to reach the next stage of development as a business.”
The announcement coincided with the Government’s Make Young People Your Business Week and was welcomed by minister for Youth Employment, Angela Constance who said:
“Make Young People Your Business Week kicked off with new jobs for young people in Glasgow and I can’t think of a better way to round it off than the announcement of new opportunities in Edinburgh.”
The average age of an FNZ team worker is 25.
