First Minister’s Questions – Scottish Shipyards

Given the announcement yesterday by BAE Systems that 835 Scottish shipyard workers are to lose their jobs, we felt it appropriate to place a recording of today’s First Minister’s Questions (FMQs) in our top story spot.
The job losses are a massive blow to the Clyde yards, to the Govan area in particular to the workers and their families.

The issue dominated FMQ’s as all three opposition leaders put the issue at the top of their agenda.  Given the seriousness of the issue and its clear implication for the future of shipbuilding in Scotland post 2014, we believe it is vital that this particular session is seen by, and circulated to, as many people as possible.
The shock news of job losses was announced when First Minister Alex Salmond was in China on a trade mission, so standing in for him is Deputy First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.

We have split the session into one for each of the leaders.  Below these videos is a recording of the BBC’s report on the session.
