FRANKEL’S ROMP to victory in the 2000 Guineas was good news for one Glasgow punter who will scoop £61,000 if the SNP win the election according to Ladbrokes.
Viewing the unbeaten horse and Salmond’s party as the two ‘dead-certs’ of spring, he combined them in an ante-post double staking £20,000 in total.
The omens are now looking good for the punter who managed to secure odds of 5/6 about an SNP victory with the party now clear 1/6 favourites in the parliamentary election betting. Labour are 7/2 to win, having been the 1/12 favourites when betting began.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Frankel slammed the field today and the odds now suggest the SNP are set to do the same. We’ve been dealt a knock-out blow by the super-horse and Salmond can now rub further salt in our wounds.”
