A Glasgow man has been arrested after an attack on another passenger on an East Coast mainline train from London to Aberdeen yesterday afternoon. Reportedly the man stabbed another passenger as the train approached Grantham station in Lincolnshire.
The train was brought to a halt in Grantham as a result of the attack. Police were called and evacutated the train. Passengers were transferred to another train service. A representative of East Coast trains said that some services had been delayed or disrupted until police had completed their investigation of the crime scene on the train.
The 37 year old victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. He is being treated in hospital in Grantham. The 33 year old arrested man has not been named.
