Falkirk MP Eric Joyce has been arrested after a fight broke out in a bar in the House of Commons.
The arrest follows a similar incident in a House of Commons bar last year which ended with the then Labour MP appearing in court and being fined £3000 after being convicted on four counts of assault at Westminster Magistrate’s Court in London.
Then, Joyce was given a twelve month community service order and barred from entering pubs for three months. He also had a curfew imposed at the weekends and forced to pay £1400 to his victims.
Joyce, who remained a member of Parliament, resigned from the Labour party but refused to resign his seat, pledging only to stand down as the MP for Falkirk in 2015.
The controversial MP was also the centre of a scandal last year after it emerged he had an affair with a 17 year old teenage schoolgirl who had been helping with his 2010 election campaign when he was a Labour candidate.
