Nine man Caley Thistle shock Hearts to reach League Cup Final

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have reached the Scottish League Cup Final after defeating Hearts in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
The win came despite Thistle having reduced to nine men after having two men sent off.

Hearts looked to have secured their place in the final when two quick-fire second half goals from Stevie Hammell put them 2-1 ahead.

When Inverness were reduced to nine men, it looked all over for the Highland outfit.  However a last gasp goal from Inverness striker Nick Ross in the fourth minute of injury time, levelled the game at 2-2 and took both teams into extra time.

Despite the two man advantage, Hearts were unable to break down the Inverness defence and the match went to penalties which the team from Inverness won 4-2, Hearts having missed twice from the spot.

Inverness will now play their first major cup final and where they will meet rivals Aberdeen.
