TIS introduced this Scottish annual award in memory of their former Convenor Frances Nelson, formally the Chair of the Dundee Federation Of Tenants Association, in recognition of her dedication to the tenants’ movement in Scotland.
The aptly named Phoenix Association rose from the ashes of despair and despondency to become a force for positive change and belief in the future for Lochee multis through their DVD ‘Our Multi Storey’.

The group have influenced decisions regarding investment in their blocks and raised awareness of the social problems in these multis, Their film has influenced the quality of housing and physical improvements required. This group will be one to watch in the future given the energy, foresight and vision they have applied to date.
