Podcast: The phony war is over, let the real campaign begin

The Scottish Parliament dissolved, the party campaigns being launched and now the day once nominated by the SNP as Scottish Independence Day – had the vote gone their way in September 2014 – has almost been and gone. Exciting times? Perhaps not yet.

Derek is joined in this week’s podcasts by the journalists and commentators Angela Haggerty and Maurice Smith. Angela is editor of Common Space and a columnist for Sunday Herald. Maurice is a TV documentary maker who produces the Newsnet Radio podcasts and is a contributor to The Herald.

The subject matter ranges across the fates and fortunes of the various political parties in Scotland, public views for and against independence, and even a rude word at the end. There’s no end of fun when Derek chairs a podcast…

The Newsnet campaign podcast will run every weekend until the Scottish elections in May, and you can help ensure that happens by subscribing, or making a one-off payment. This helps us to maintain the podcasts’ high technical standard, and hopefully to introduce video podcasts in future. Please help if you can. Thank you for your continuing support.
