Scot Martin Laird wins Texas Open


Martin Laird has won the Texas Open by one stroke after shooting a course record-equalling final round of 63.

The Scot started the day seven shots off the lead but finished the tournament 14 under par to win by one shot from Rory McIlroy.  The Scot birdied the last three holes to win the tournament.

As well as winning the tournament and with it $1.1 million, Laird has also qualified for next week’s Masters tournament at Augusta.
