Scotland have been pitted against Wales in the qualifying rounds for the 2014 World Cup. The two Celtic nations were drawn alongside Croatia, Serbia, Belgium and Macedonia in the six team group.
Craig Levein’s men defeated the Welsh 3-1 the last time they met, but Wales manager Gary Speed was without key players for that encounter and it will be a very different Wales team who line up in qualification.
The Scots avoided some of the top pedigree nations such as Spain, Italy and Germany. With a decent record against group top seeds Croatia they will feel they have a realistic chance of qualification.
Macedonia are the second lowest ranked team in the group and Scotland will be wary of travelling to Skopje after suffering a 1-0 defeat there in the first qualifying game for the 2010 World Cup.
