Alan Knight was born in Glasgow. He is a former film editor who worked on features, documentaries and, tv dramas for BBC/Channel 4/independents. He wrote and created scripts and voice-overs for cdroms.
Alan is now a documentary film maker. His documentaries include ‘The Art of Survival‘; a study of Bosnians exiled in London which was broadcast on ZDF/ARTE, ‘Back to Sarajevo‘, life in the Bosnian capital 10 years after the war (best documentary award at Rome Documentary Festival) and ‘Shenzhen: The Future of China?‘ (trailer).
Recent films include ‘Ghost Show‘, a documentary about Scotland’s travelling showpeople, ‘Voices from the Barras’, celebrating Glasgow’s most famous street market, and ‘Cyprus: The other side of paradise’.
After a break from photography, Alan has become interested in digital photography and is working on his own projects. He has a photographic book in print called ‘Glasgow at the Crossroads‘ (Stenlake Publishing).
