Oh the Shame
The shame that we a settled people feel no shame
That we may carp and curse, complain and moan and feel free to shed the blame
To bow our heads and acquiesce
Self made slaves in all but name

Oh the Shame
The shame that we a settled people feel no shame
That we may carp and curse, complain and moan and feel free to shed the blame
To bow our heads and acquiesce
Self made slaves in all but name

Oh the Shame
The shame that we give all our rights away
The right to make our own decisions come what may
Our wealth all taken from us, by masters that we chose
Who tell us we’re not big enough to make it on our own

Oh the Shame
That like sheep into the frame,
we are led into the shearing shed and give our blessing in our name
to be robbed and bled of dignity, by scoundrels crooks and Lords
all traitors to their names, who we all can Ill afford

Oh the Shame
Upon those of high opinion who wealth and power gain
On the backs of selling out their people
So that they can fill their purse
While telling one and telling all that our insignificance is our curse

Oh the shame
That we think so very little of ourselves
That we readily believe the Lies, that every Liar tells
We believe that we are weak, when we’ve the strength to all be strong
accepting handouts that are given us when from our wealth it all belonged

Oh the Shame
That we have no-one else to blame
The blame all lies with you and I, it’s happened by our names
For we are the ones who have given it and we are the ones who permitted it
By our cowardice, we have given up in shame
