Nicola Sturgeon, gave a keynote speech in Oslo on Wednesday last week at the annual conference of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise where she issued a strong call for Scottish-Norwegian collaboration on carbon capture, offshore wind and other climate technologies. The First Minister also discussed areas of potential Scotland/Norwegian collaboration with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg.

Norway is an member of EFTA and in the EU Single Market which is important to Scotland going forward. This example of inter nation collaboration is important for Scotland’s future place in Europe. Membership of EFTA is likely to be a first stage in leaving Brexit England behind, following the independence referendum.
