Leading QC Paul McBride has claimed that the influences of the rest of the UK is preventing a more extreme form of bigotry in Scotland.

According to a report in the Scotsman newspaper, Mr McBride claims that sectarianism would “blossom” in an independent Scotland.

The one time Tory advisor also claimed that an independent Scotland could have “serious” implications for catholics, who he said should have “concerns” about independence.
