A video showing Rangers fans chanting anti-independence slogans and using offensive terms to describe First Minister Alex Salmond has caused outrage on social media.
In the video, fans are seen waving a Union flag whilst aiming foul mouthed abuse at the First Minister. Other fans are shown singing a well-known song, deemed by many to be sectarian, about hunger striker Bobby Sands.
The video also contains footage of what appears to be a Rangers fan wearing an English football jersey whilst aggressively singing an anti-independence song and urging people to leave the country if Scotland becomes independent.
Whilst the football supporters are not representative of pro-Union campaigners as a whole, the video will prove uncomfortable for Unionists, many of whom claim that extreme and offensive views are only to be found amongst supporters of independence.
