It’s all too easy to react to images such as this, and the use of the ‘K’ in Klan is further evidence of an attempt at depicting many ordinary Scots as racists in the same mould as the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).
But we all must resist the temptation to react to such provocation.
The image above, by Scotland on Sunday, is a bastardised image of a photograph by Ian Rutherford for a book by Professor Tom Devine. It is an affront to free speech.
So, who will be the first Scottish journalist to condemn the superimposition of a swastika over the saltire and will this shocking use of Nazi imagery receive the widespread condemnation it deserves?
